Advice from Dr. Suess, on his birthday

Standard

This week is Read Across America Week in schools, and it kicks off with the celebration of Dr. Suess’ birthday on March 2! I spent copious amounts of time last Thursday making posters to celebrate silly Suess today, and all week long, at my school. Here I’d like to take a moment to share some of his best tidbits of advice and quotes…not just for kids 🙂

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.”

“You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so…get on your way!”

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

“Today you are you. That is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you!”

And finally,

“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild to pick up a book and read to a child.”

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

If you know any children at all, help them love books by reading to them this week in honor of Dr. Suess 🙂
